One of our most visited munch spots. We're just shocked it's not rated number one. We've had delicious food and friendly service on a consistent basis. You can even get a great view from the higher stools of the corner table in the right rear of the front room (see pic). We usually split a plate as the potions are generous. Enjoy (we sure do!) What Anonym dislikes about Kate's Place:
I chose the smoked salmon salad to have for lunch and was quite disappointed when it came out. It should be advertised as a garden salad with option of smoked salmon or Cajun chicken. It consisted of a pile of lettuce, carrot, cucumber, and capsicum on one side of the plate and a pile of smoked salmon on the other. It was ok but definitely not worth the $17 it cost me. Delicious, delicious, delicious. Did I mention how yummy breakfast was? This place is the perfect spot for a relaxing morning meal, but let's keep it a secret so I can still grab a table.
Had breakfast there fantastic little cafe, staff friendly breakfast excellent coffee very good not bitter, only thing I would have liked was a smaller portion of breakfast maybe a choice of small serving or regular serving, also great that they do pay forward coffee or soup love this idea �will definitely be back next time in Albany

My favourite place in Albany! Always friendly staff, beautiful atmosphere and amazing food! Can't get enough!
I absolutely adored the potato cakes topped with perfectly poached eggs and the most amazing hollandaise sauce. It's been three years since I last visited, but the menu is still fantastic.
