My sandwich was just OK, not great. I ordered the Red Rooster and the meat was very bland and dry making the whole sandwich pretty flavorless in my opinion. My boyfriend had the Italian American and said it was OK but pretty small for $11. Pickup was easy and staff were friendly. If you're driving there, just know that Maiden Ln is not open to vehicles from 11:30 am 2 pm. View all feedback.

I ordered the Monday special, grilled cheese with tomato soup. The grilled cheese was made to perfection. Thoroughly buttered before cooking so that there was crisp all over the bread. Plenty of American cheese. Hearty tomato soup. I also tasted my husband?s macaroni and cheese. It was warm and creamy?so good! Others in my party ordered the grilled chicken salad, chicken noodle soup, mac and cheese, and Yo Eddie sandwich. Everyone was very pleased with their meal. If you?re not a regular, look at the menu ahead of time, and be ready to order when you get to the counter! They move people through quickly and rightfully so as a lunch spot in downtown Albany.
The food here is so good and the people are all extremely friendly! I tried the All American sandwich, freshly made chips, and mac cheese, and it was all fantastic! I like that they make so much of the food in house, including the bacon, chips, and mac. I also got some cookies, and they were great, too! If I ever end up back in Albany, I'll definitely be stopping by Cobblestone for lunch as often as I can.
Hands down, the best roast beef sub and coleslaw I?ve ever had. It?s a little pricier than my favorite local sub place (former favorite they?ve been replaced by Cobblestone), but they make their own roast beef which is noticeably fresher and so tender so it?s completely worth it. Also, I was full after eating only half of the sub and coleslaw so I got two meals out of it. I would highly recommend it! UPDATE: I have now also tried 1) The Southern Gentleman sandwich and oh my goodness, it?s phenomenal the fried chicken was so juicy with perfectly seasoned crispy breading, 2) the Tacos which are delicious there?s a soft shell ?glued? to a hard shell with cheese and the beef was perfectly seasoned and 3) the homemade chips which are magically thin, super crispy and perfectly salted. This place is a must try! Once you do, you will for sure become a regular. The food is consistently delicious and made with noticeably high quality products. You can taste the love, talent and pride in every bite!
Loved every bite. Fast, friendly, honest food at a great price. Perfect for lunch in downtown Albany.
