Sam's was always our favorite go- to restaurant when visiting relatives in Albany. I'm sorry to say that this time it was a huge disappointment. The eggplant parm, previously sliced paper thin, was very thick. A cod dish was missing artichokes, which was in the menu's description and the clams were very chewy. Tradition Italian food prepared well with ample portions. Family run since the early 70s. Prices are reasonable and service excellent. Too many signature dishes to list. A very popular neighborhood eatery with lots of return customers.
What a great place for Italian food! The martinis were perfect the veal parmesan excellent! Great food, warm, intimate atmosphere. I would recommend it if in the area back.
We were in town from a suburb of New York City. We ate there because it was easy. We enjoyed it immensely. The food was delicious. The waitress was very friendly and very helpful. If I lived closer, I would eat there every week.
