Bountiful Bread offers a charming space for soup, sandwiches, and pastries, consistently delivering well-prepared meals with quick service. Patrons enjoy a cozy, family-friendly atmosphere complemented by fresh ingredients, including house-made mozzarella. Despite occasional complaints about pricing—especially for soups and salads—many find the quality and flavor worth the splurge. Diners appreciate the staff's friendliness and the inviting bakery selection, highlighting specialties like the Vermont Turkey sandwich and classic club. While the restaurant occasionally wrestles with staffing shortages, the overall experience leaves guests satisfied and eager to return, eagerly recommending it to others seeking a delightful meal.
I've been stopping by this place for quite some time, usually just to grab a baked good and hurry on my way. However, last night was my first experience dining in for a meal. First off, they are consistently under-staffed at the counter—it’s an ongoing issue. On a positive note, the food was well-prepared and served quickly. I ordered the Vermont Turkey sandwich, which was a bit on the pricey side at $14.50, but I have to say it was quite tasty. I also got a cup of soup for $6. Let me emphasize—just a cup! I think that's a bit outrageous, and it was my oversight for not checking the price beforehand. So, if you're willing to treat yourself, the quality and speed of the food make it worthwhile. However, if you're watching your budget, I would suggest skipping the soup.
I absolutely love bread! My husband and I visit this restaurant frequently. I've never had a bad meal here, and the staff are consistently wonderful. I highly recommend you try everything on the menu. Just so you know, the portions are enormous—each one is about the size of a person's head! Lol.
Bountiful Bread is a nice soup and sandwich shop. They serve soup, sandwiches and pastries. Service was good, but they were backed up at the service counter. This was Saturday afternoon though. Overall the experience was good. I met with a group of friends here, we were able to sit together, talk, and were not bothered. A great experience and the food was good.
The Germans and the French distinguish between a bread shop and a pastry shop. Bountiful Bread combines both PLUS a fantastic selection of soups and sandwiches for lunch, all freshly made while you wait, not prepackaged. A must-drop-in eatery if you 'reexhausted from shopping at the Stuyvesant Plaza and looking for a break and a snack!
The make your own sandwich is the best, I get mozzarella, spinach, mushrooms, tomato and basil pesto on marble rye and it was perfect. They make their own mozzarella and it's scrumptious! My husband got the Sesame salmon bowl, he loves it every time, that's his go to. The staff member was courteous, they were busy and it was for pickup so I'll remember to order online nexttime. Food came in about 10-12 minutes and was worth every minute The food came in a timely manner and we loved it. Thanks fora delicious meal.
