Craving polenta, ribs, and sausage? Served! Everything was perfect: location, welcome, service. Recommended.

I dined there with a large group of friends, almost all of whom are Italian but not one was from Alatri. For us there was no language barrier; I do not know if the owner and the staff speak English but they were far from rude. They welcomes us heartily and provided impeccable service, The restaurant may appear dark and cavernous: it was the cellar, the undercroft of a religious house. We sampled different pasta dishes: each was well done. We each had a meat course with no complaint. I must admit however that I was not won over by the local white wine. Not many non-Italians visit Alatri but a day trip for dinner heer would be worth it.

This restaurant is in an amazing location. It is below the church and has been restored beautifully. We ordered the salami and cheese plate for 2 even though we were 4 people and it was more than enough. All of both were very good. The pasta dishes however could have been more tasty. We got the pasta with porcini mushrooms (3) and pasta with meat and tomato sauce. The porcini pasta was pretty tasteless, this is surprising since we are in the height of porcini season. The pasta with meat sauce was good but nothing to be crazy about.

The building that this restaurant is in is over 2000 years old! Amazing! The food was very good, and the service was great.

We were wandering around Alatri failing to find anything open in mid September when we came upon this place. it has a nice little outside space and inside is interesting being built a bit like vault, but pleasanter than that! We joined some young locals and decided to have the same as they did for starter, a mixed platter of local cheeses and meats. A good choice, they'd also asked for some honey to go with the cheese so we did to and that was a great decision, that's one nice combination! We then shared a couple of pasta dishes between the four of us as we were eating out that evening, one of us also had a dessert. Everything was very good and the service was fine. The owner was pleasant and friendly and the wine excellent!
