A Chamine - Alandroal

A very friendly host. We were impressed by the appetisers that he brought to our table and were surprised at how well priced they were when we got the bill. The fried quails eggs were particularly delicious. We will certainly dine here on our next visit to Alandroal, if the owner is still living. His words, as we left.

There were several choices in town with slightly higher reviews, but we can't imagine why. We ordered the roasted chicken for two, which was accompanied by French fries, all of which was outstanding. The cover of cheese, bread and peppers was also outstanding. The prices were low and the food portions generous.

I go back to Alentejo often, as it brings back childhood memories. Dining at A Chaminé is no different. The food is just like I remember and the service is great albeit simple. Try the Tomato Soup or the also traditional Açorda. And don't leave without tasting the also very traditional Sericaia. Also, the Sangria is amazing!
