Oh hell yea. This place use to be a quality butcher shop. It served quality cuts of meat but just wasn't sustainable. So now it's this divey brewery with excellent pub food. Kudos to the chef and bartender, Rob. They deliver excellent service and taste to your pallet. They have an excellent choice of beer and also love to chat and hear about your day. Ill be back every Monday's because it's part of my commute and fas... View all feedback.
What Joe F doesn't like about Ej Phair Pub Alehouse: Alamo:
Good atmosphere and a nice friendly vibe with a strong selection of local beers. High noise level made it tough to carry on a conversation, but that's part of the atmosphere. Unfortunately the food and service were not their strong points and for that reason I would hesitate to recommend this establishment to a friend. View all feedback.
The burgers and beer and service were all amazing! The sweet potato fries were pretty good too but I'd skip the garlic fries since they were just raw garlic and grated parm on fries
I recently had one of the best cheeseburgers I've ever eaten at this place. The bartender was really laid-back and friendly as well. Given how amazing that cheeseburger was, I will definitely be returning to try more items from their menu. I believe the burger had "Diablo" in its name.
I've been visiting this restaurant intermittently since it first opened. The food is decent, and the bar area is quite nice. However, I have a significant issue with their beer tap system. Beer should be served cold, but that hasn't been the case for years. I’ve noticed that as soon as the staff place the glasses under the tap, the beer starts to foam up because it’s too warm. They then pour the foam into a pitcher and often use that pitcher to top off the glasses, which has likely been sitting out for who knows how long. It’s disheartening to see so much beer being wasted—enough that the owner should consider investing in fixing the problem. Just yesterday, I saw three pitchers, each about half full of warm, foamy beer. I went back again yesterday in hopes that things would have improved, but the same issue persisted. I enjoy the ambiance of the place, but I think I’ll be spending my money elsewhere for cold beer, as it seems the owner isn’t concerned about this issue.
Now, let's talk about the food—it’s simply the best in town! Each dish is carefully crafted and served to perfection, featuring fresh, locally-sourced ingredients paired with inventive flavor combinations that will delight your palate. Every bite takes you on a culinary journey, leaving you eagerly anticipating the next. EJ Phair offers an extraordinary dining experience that you don’t want to miss while in Alamo. The staff's dedication to quality and service, along with their remarkable culinary creations, guarantees a memorable outing that will have you wanting to come back for more. Cheers to EJ Phair, Becky, Teresa, and their outstanding team!
We had a lovely Saturday evening. The restaurant wasn't too crowded, and we sat outside with our dog. The food was delicious, and the sangria was great too.
