R. Shea Brewing Canal Place Downtown

The beer is good. I had some I really liked and others I really did not like. As a dark beer person, I hit up most of the seasonal Christmas dark beers. My favorite was the Candy Cane Milk Stout. My least favorite was the Gingerbread. That is the beauty of a flight, you can try different ones to find what you like. We had food at the table as well. Everyone was pleased with his or her choices. There is a very wide variety and everyone should be able to find something they like. The atmosphere is very cool. It has the old warehouse feel of downtown Akron.

I hosted an event here for my real estate company. Great people, great drinks, and really great food. I am definitely impressed with the selection of beer and how good the food was (pizza and other apps). I definitely enjoyed the atmosphere as well. We had nearly 50 people show up, and we were accommodated perfectly. I also like the local selection of liquors. Highly recommend for a night out with friends or even an event with lots of people. Love this place! The staff is always very friendly and the food and beer is delicious! I ordered the chicken and waffles which is a special they have at the moment and it was amazing!

This brewery is right downtown in the Canal Place. I'm not sure why it took us so long to go here but I'm glad we decided to stop in. The setting is a warehouse and a little to big but would be great on a busy not or for an event. Of course, R. Shea Brewing has a nice selection of beers. The food was a nice surprise. We ordered the Buffalo Chicken Pizza and it was very good. The fried chicken was a nice touch and cheese was on point. The crust was one of the best I've had in Akron...house made...not to thick or thin and was cooked through. The OG Brewhoyse burger was also very good..beer cheese sauce was excellent...however the burger is always cooked well done and it was a little tough but flavorful. Overall a great experience and we are excited to go back and try some more brews and great food!

I had a friend fly in from LA and we went brewery hoping! This was not at all what I was expecting!!!! I was pleasantly surprised when I walked it. The place is one of the coolest places I have seen! The Taco pizza is amazing and every beer I tried was just as good as the next! Fried pickles and a flight of beer! All were in my top 5! This is a must visit if you are doing the Ohio On Tap trail!!!
