Whether you're a fan of Ohio Valley style pizza or not, this restaurant is worth a try. My wife, who grew up along the Ohio River, considers this pizza to be the norm - loaded with partially melted cheese and a variety of pepperoni options. Although it's not my top choice (I prefer NYC thin crust), I found the crispy yet fluffy crust to be a pleasant change. Plus, supporting local businesses is always a bonus in my b... What Austin doesn't like about Dicarlos Pizza Akron:
I understand it’s a different style of pizza but ewww gross. My pizza was cold as were the toppings (which the toppings are supposed to be so that part is fine i also got a pepperoni roll. The sauce and crust are both gross and I have regrets after eating it. Ive never left a review this soon, I literally just finished my last bite of the pepperoni roll, which was slightly below average but infinitely better than the... View all feedback.

I’m From Marrins Ferry and we had one in town so I grew up on DiCarlos. Worked there in high school, my brother managed it. The Akron location was good when it opened, but has gone down hill ever since, very inconsistent . I’ve never left a review on anyplace, and never thought I would ever leave a bad review for DiCarlos. Hope the Dicarlo family Amazing Family) does an intervention soon before their name is tarnished. If you want to experience true Dicarlos, take a trip down to Wheeling or Stubenville and you will experience true Ohio Valley Pizza. Tonight was the last time over paying for someone to ruin my favorite pizza. Leaving this review because this is not true DiCarlos pizza. Some people may like it…. Just not me. Good luck and i hope you get it right soon, for the sake of the Dicarlo name.
Okay. You need to know before you order here, this is a little different than most pizza you are used to. They only offer a couple of toppings, pepperoni, and banana peppers. The cheese is added after the pizza is cooked. (I assume. It isn't melted or browned). But if you are up for trying something different, this is worth it. Nice crust and excellent sauce. The people working there are very nice too.
Moving to area from Philly and needed to accomplish two very important items, 1. find a house and 2. find a pizza place. After trying a few in the area I stopped in DiCarlo's and it will be my new pizza stop. Love the dough, sauce is fantastic and an overall great pie! Glad I stopped in....
I grew up on Ohio Valley pizza, but there are not many places left that serve it. I moved to Akron about 5 years ago, and while there are many great pizza places, none compare to this one! This pizza is exactly what I have been craving and searching for in this area for years. The crust is crunchy and thin, and I can taste the garlic in the sauce. The fresh grated cheese and slightly warm pepperoni are a perfect combination. It's simple and amazing! The service was also excellent. The staff member was very kind, and the pizza was ready in minutes. He even brought it out to our table when it was done. This will definitely be one of my top choices for pizza from now on. Thank you for the perfect simplicity. ?
