The Hotdog Shop - Ajijic

We stayed almost next door to this restaurant and ended up going there several times during our week there. Pleasant food, good sausage, affordable meat.

Wanted to give this place a chance. Went Saturday, May First chair I began to sit in had torn upholstery on the back with black bugs coming out of it. OK, happens( so moved to the bar area, where they prepare the food. All...meat is frozen and cooked on a small charcoal window sill grill. Ordered the bratwurst, husband had chorizo. After receiving our order, chorizo okay, but bratwurst was still cold. He put it back on the grill, but never was ever really warm. Tried to eat it anyway until something around my legs caught my eye. Roaches were crawling all over the side of the bar. Got up and walked out, needless to say without eating. Husband stayed inside and paid our bill. First and definitely last visit.

Very nice!! I had lunch there even before they were officially open and was very impressed with the selection, quality and size of the dogs. My esposa and I ate lunch there today. The hot dogs are still the best. The small salad that comes with it fresh and well appointed. Even more condiments today. Daniel and Juan made sure we had a great time. Both were very personable and attentive. They earned a generous tip ; We really enjoyed this place and will definitely return to savor the rest of the selection. Today, 9/11/17, I'm updating my review. This place just keeps getting better. If you like hot dogs, you gotta check out this place!!!

Normally I can't eat hot dogs as the preservatives in it do not agree with me. Have you ever noticed how long hot dogs last in the refrigerator???? Well the hot dogs at the lovely little restaurant are preservative free and I spoke to the gentleman who makes them and I was impressed. These hot dogs are the best I have ever had!!!! They have a great selection with tons of toppings. Friendly service and good prices. You have to go and see for yourself.

Fantastic first experience dining here tonight. The chorizo was outstanding. My companions loved their bratwursts. Tons of condiments and a great beverage selection. The owner was incredibly attentive and helpful. Plus they'll deliver! I look forward to going back. Soon!!
