The poutine was better than expected but I found the gravy way too salty so I couldn't finish it. Unless the sodium levels are adjusted, I don't think I would return.

When it gets busy customers are aggravated with the employee but it’s managements fault for not scheduling more people. More than that it’s dangerous to have one person working at a time. If you come here later in the day try to have patience for the person behind the counter, they are really doing their best

Only when we asked about it after we started eating and noticed they weren’t there she informed us they were out of the product and everyone was missing it tonight and didn’t offer a refund or any compensation or product change. Also, the restaurant was closing at 9pm and at 8:40pm we were told to leave so she could clean. For a $60 meal for 4 people and a tip you give before receiving your product we were extremely disappointed. Won’t be coming back.

The service was absolutely terrible - no o... read more Avoid spending your money at Mean Poutine! I decided to give this restaurant a try last night and I deeply regret it. The service was absolutely terrible - no one even greeted us and the workers just stared at us. When I asked about their specials, the girl rudely pointed to the decals on the wall without saying a word. Despite trying to lighten the mood with some humor, she was not receptive. I asked about the menu items and she simply handed me a menu. I should have walked out then, but I went ahead and placed my order. I received a customized poutine and a dish that was off the menu, along with some drinks. The food was mediocre at best, with my customized poutine being particularly disappointing - the gravy was watery and flavorless, and the ground beef was bland. When I went up to the counter to ask for my drinks (which they had forgotten to give me initially), I was informed that the restaurant was closing in 20 minutes and they needed to clean the dining room. At that point, I had had enough. It was a truly terrible experience and I will never be returning. I strongly advise against visiting this place. The customer service was awful and the food was equally bad. They need to improve.

The girl behind the counter was wearing AirPods and talking on the phone while taking my order. As a result, she had to ask me to repeat my order multiple times because she was focused on the call rather than listening to me. Normally, I wouldn't write a review like this, but I believe it's crucial for employees to prioritize their customers over phone conversations. I'm not upset about her using AirPods or being on a call; it's the fact that she was distracted instead of attending to my order that left me feeling let down. There’s room for improvement in this area. I truly hope changes will be made because I can see she has great potential.

Unfortunately, the young woman working there wasn't very friendly, and the food presentation was quite poor. I ordered the veggie poutine, and it was disappointing and not worth the money I spent. I should have just gone for a classic poutine instead. The grilled onions were huge and unappetizing, and the sweet peppers were equally unappealing. I chose tomatoes over mushrooms, and they were the only ingredients that were actually chopped. The food looked as though someone had chewed it and then spat it back into the box. I won't be returning—this experience was absolutely disgusting and a waste of $12.62.

The point of a p... read more The first time I tried Mean Poutine I was pleasantly surprised. Each subsequent visit has gotten worse. The poutine barely has any gravy on it. The point of a poutine is the cheese curds AND gravy. They tell you to pay for extra gravy and extra doesn't even come on the poutine. Traditionally, a poutine is meant to be saucy not bone dry. To make matters worse, my fries have got to have been triple fried. They are too hard, dark and crunchy. The little gravy there was is just sitting on the hard shell of the fry. The poutine is so dry I had to add ketchup. Even my children are complaining saying the fries taste off. If fries are old, through them out. Don't re-fry them and serve the bad product to customers who are paying an already marked up price for potatoes. I've provided this feedback to the establishment already, but I guess the business is doing good from the students at nearby schools during lunchtime that they don't need to care. I'm tired of being played the fool by capitalists. Customers are educated/intelligent and can tell when something is fresh versus not.

This raises the question: should one just go to Costco and get their $5/$6 poutine instead? I don't want to speak negatively about this restaurant, as the poutine I tried was delicious, and I noticed there are plenty of food choices available. I would definitely return and would recommend this place to others or anyone in the area.
