Description

Tucked in Aiken, this cozy, family-run Italian spot pairs imported pasta and hearty appetizers with an atmospheric upstairs bar and attentive, owner-driven service. Wine and cocktails complement simple, well-executed plates—clam linguine, meatballs and sausage and peppers earn praise—while entrees are mid-to-upscale in price. The dining room’s old-house charm, intimate seating and lively bar make it ideal for adults and small groups. Ample parking and wheelchair access add convenience, though the menu skews heavily toward pasta and occasional variability in execution has been reported.

Essentially an adults-only restaurant (serves ages 12+ with a beautiful upstairs bar complete with chandelier to enjoy while you wait! Old house with 8-10 tables. Imported pasta from Staten Island. Approachable menu- entrees $20-30. Great service, too. Would recommend!

Best Italian in Aiken. Some of the best I have ever had. Perfect romantic date night spot.

Absolutely amazing experience all around. The bar upstairs is phenomenal and the bartender makes the best drinks we have had in the CSRA. The service in the dining room is always top tier and we have been here on numerous occasions. The owners are the sweetest people and are always so accommodating. You must get the meatballs or sausage and peppers for an appetizer. The salad is also a must have. I have ordered something different on the menu each time for my entree and it is all amazing.. Absolutely the best Italian food you can get in the area and probably in all of South Carolina. We love Macalusos! A rare gem in the Aiken area.

Our visit was somewhat disappointing. Have visited before and enjoyed our food and visit .But....it wasn't as pleasant this visit. The service was very good but the food was not compared to our previous visits. We had a good white wine with the clams and linguine and tried a small sausage pizza. The linguine and clam dish was a B- at best and the pizza was too well done maybe a C+ .Maybe it was just a Friday night thing, but not worth the $85+

Very cute restaurant with friendly staff. The service was excellent, as was the relaxing atmosphere. The food was good, but very basic. Prices were high for a no frills pasta dish.
