Friendly staff, fast service und really great food (best pizza we had in our Campagna trip). Honestly I cannot support on the weak ratings on price and service as it was simply great!! €5 for a pizza is a real good value and neither €€ nor €€€ for us a clear €!! Go there and enjoy View all feedback.
What Sockster doesn't like about Pomodo:
The food was fine and very reasonable. The mozzarella, prosciutto and melon salad was good not great and the two pizzas we ordered were fine, but without too much taste. With a liter of wine lunch was only 27 euros- super reasonable, but unfortunately there has to be better in the area. View all feedback.
Visited Pomodo for dinner with my family on Monday 6 August. We arrived at approximately 9pm and were quickly greeted and seated. Pomodo was a clean, well staffed and a well decorated restaurant it was approximately one third full (due to it being a Monday night). The menu was extensive with a vast number of meal options available (inclusive of Vegan) to suit almost any palette. English menus were also made available which made the meal selection process a lot easier. Meal prices across the menu were reasonable and on par with surrounding restaurants. We quickly placed our order as our children were quite hungry. The order was simple: three drinks, a margherita, a basic tomato based pasta, a rustic chicken dish and veal fillets in a white wine sauce. The drinks arrived almost immediately. However, after waiting for approximately 25 minutes for the meals, I gestured to the waiter whom advised that they were on the way he then brought us some table bread. After another 5 or so minutes the meals finally arrived. Every meal we received was quite flavorsome and fresh; serving sizes were acceptable. The only disappointment was the veal, which was quite tough; however the flavor was exceptional. Personally I could not finish the veal due to it’s texture and ended up finishing the remainder of my child’s pasta (which was exceptional). On another note, the only proactive service we received from the wait staff was: the initial greeting/seating, taking the order, drink/meal delivery and the removal of plates. All other contact was initiated by myself. Personally I would have liked more attentiveness and to have had someone check in to assess if we needed anything else or to enquire about our meals. I will probably visit Pomodo again before I depart Agropoli to give them another try. I do hope that this was an “out of the ordinary” experience as I do feel that this restaurant probably does deserve 5 stars however in this instance it would have been inappropriate for me to award 5 stars.
We were hot from a long walk in the heat when we entered and were immediately greeted by Carmine, our waiter. He was friendly and spoke to us in excellent English, which made us feel relaxed and right at home even though we’d never been here before. We have stringent dietary restrictions so we asked for a pizza with toppings not on the menu, and a salad also not on the menu. “No problem” said Carmine. And an excellent pizza and salad were delivered promptly…one of the best pizzas we’ve had in Italy, in the six trips we’ve made there over the years. A very pleasant experience. We plan to return for every midday meal of our stay in Agropoli.
