Funky modern pub. Great wine list, and easy food. A great spot on Gouger Street. Lovely for lunch. Quick and friendly service. Handy for a relax after a bustle around the central markets! View all feedback.
What Velda Littel doesn't like about The Glasshouse Hotel:
our group has pre-ordered our lunch break for a certain time. from 10 on our table came 3 meals an hour too late. all the others had eaten and went back to work, left 3 very shattered and hungry people behind. our meals finally came. out, but a meal seemed cold and another one overboiled. there was no offer of a free drink or something for her mistake. I had plans to have a milestone birthday dinner there, but these... View all feedback.
Great atmosphere and friendly staffThis hotel has a limited menu but the food is cooked to perfection.
I've chosen to write this while waiting for some service It's been 20 mins so far.. Probably enough said.
Had their "special" the slow cooked lamb for 2 Meat was certainly tender, and the accompanying veg and scallops were entertaining.
The Glasshouse Hotel is big and fancy looking from the outside (situated on Gouger Street near the courts and a little sparkly on the inside. <br/ <br/ It was a really strange place! When we sat down, it actually felt like it was an upper class pub that wasn 't in a pub 'building ' and had nice ornaments. It looked like we should have table service, but we ordered at the bar (totally fine, just confusing! . I got a rare steak my partner bought the half duck cooked two ways with a side of roast carrots. <br/ <br/ It didn 't really bother me because we were just chatting having a good time, but our dinner did seem to take a long time to come out our side of roast carrot never came. We didn 't mind as our mains filled us up so we didn 't follow them up but we definitely took them off the bill at the end the waiter was apologetic.<br/ <br/ The steak was DELICIOUS (rare with roasted onion braised mushrooms. However the bernaise sauce didn 't quite fit with the onion. I really enjoyed the meal my partner seemed to enjoy his! <br/ <br/ It seems to be a jazzed up pub, but I enjoyed my food!
