Came here for yum cha today and I was quite surprised by the service and the speed of the food coming around. Usually, not a lot of yum cha places offer above standard service, but this place hit just that! We were greeted, and not treated like anything less, and the waiters always said excuse me when they came around with food. Overall, the yum cha was quite nice and delicious, though nothing wow or fancy. It's a pl... View all feedback.
What Yasmin Howe doesn't like about T Chow:
We had the banquet for 50 dollars each and found it just not that great most of the food was deep fried and salty also the service was very ordinary I would not recommend this restaurant and will never come here again! View all feedback.
There are so many better options. Bland, ordinary Chinese food, filthy restaurant, awful ambience and poor service.
PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO READ. It is a lengthy review but I still cannot believe this happened. It really has left a terrible and disgusting impression. I am not usually one to want to write up a bad review for businesses because people whether it be whoever of the staff, managers or owners can have bad day, but the terribly disgusting experience my family and I had endured at this restaurant last Sunday has very much warranted a review. People NEED TO KNOW what SNEAKY ACTS this business is doing by ADDING SURPRIZE 'EXTRAS ' onto bills. People need to speak up at this kind of behavior and at the unwarranted and disrespectfulness some of their staff bestowed upon my family and I… and all because of an already used/old disposable plastic/paper table cover… all because I questioned an item at the end of the bill which stated “ PAPER FEE $50.00”. After back and forth, trying to stand our ground on this paper fee they charged for rips in their used and old disposable table cover which they said kids on our table had ripped, then me having point out at other table covers which other diners sat at that had rips and tears in if they were also to be charged, thus me warning other patrons to make sure they check their bills for such extra charges… the staff member arguing the bill with me finally prints a new bill and slams it down angrily in front me. She removed the $50 paper fee charge and replaced it with a $10 cleaning fee. Impudent much?! I said to her quietly in disappointment “I’ve seen what you’ve done, it’s not right you sneakily charge such fees, it’s not right the behavior of you and your staff to have a go at us when we have done nothing wrong. I will pay this to keep the peace and stop this now because it did not need to go this far. We came here for my nephew’s birthday, and you have all ruined the celebration.” To cut a DISTRESSING and AWFUL story and experience short – they really took the happiness and joy out of my nephew’s supposed to be Happy 19th Birthday Celebration. We were having a great time amongst extended family, enjoying an evening out celebrating and not having to cook – however the night was very much ruined when the restaurant staff escalated a small and straightforward matter by making excuses for their unwarranted ‘extra charges’, then by taking things to a personal-level being disrespectful and downright rude – especially by one staff member in particular calling us adults bad parents and making such comments like “with parents like you”. This birthday celebration is one to remember for all the wrong reasons. This experience is definitely one I hope no one else has to experience if they ever decide to dine here. I hope this restaurant and its staff take a good look at themselves on how they acted to my family and I, infront of the kids who were around worried and confused and in front of other diners/witnesses and feel awful about it and disappointed in themselves. I don’t want their apology if they ever decided to do so or even acknowledge their appalling behavior but they should apologize to my nephew for ruining his special day. We’ve come here a handful of times before and have never needed to say a bad word about this place. We will never come back here again and we will no longer recommend this place. They made $800 from us that night including that $10 cleaning fee I still paid to keep the peace, and in return we were left in SHOCK, HORROR and DISAPPOINTMENT and a SICKENING FEELING in the stomach, not from the food but from the experience we faced all because I questioned a sneaky extra charge to the bill they handed to me.
Went there today for lunch. Bland fried rice, very poor crispy beef, tasted as though it had been deep fried a few more times than normal and the velvet Ed chicken was way too soft. Bicarbonate left on too long. Next the toilets…….. used the disabled because of having my 3.5 year old grand daughter with us, absolutely disgusting, filthy mop and bucket, no hand towels and where it was had been partly dismantled . Had to use toilet paper that was just sitting on the railing. What is wrong with these Chinese restaurants, I have yet to ever find clean toilets. I will be reporting the restaurant to the Adelaide Council, nowhere good enough. It even felt dirty, let alone being dirty.
Had a great family dinner. Food was good. However, when the bill came and we pointed out the wine was $15 more than on the menu, they said some one must have changed the price . The manager began to cross the price out in the menu and the waiter came over and said it was the higher price. When I went over to the manager and said she had just changed the price just then, she said it was the higher price. I checked the on line menu and it was the LOWER price. Got in an argument. In the end paid the higher price, but will never go back and will recomemd non of my family and friends go there. HORRIBLE SERVICE!!!
Late delivery, food cold. Combined with another delivery to “reduce” costs. No sign of any discounted price.
