Description

Sushi Train offers a lively and attractive dining experience, serving fresh and flavorful sushi that keeps patrons returning. While the food garners high praise, including standout items like the wagyu beef salad and spicy karaage chicken, the wait for a table can be a significant drawback, especially during peak times. The menu allows diners to order specific items, ensuring a satisfying meal despite the limited selection on the train. The bustling atmosphere, friendly service, and quick delivery of food add to the overall appeal, though guests are advised to prepare for potential queues or consider takeout for convenience.

Now be prepared to wait a little while for a booth or a spot around the train. This place was sooooo busy but in a good way! We probably waited about 15-20 minutes before we got our spot. Plenty of options available on the train but the staff were attentive in asking if we wanted to order off the menu. When we did order off the menu food was quick to come out, except once we had to remind them... The chefs even kept asking if we wanted to order more. This is a cheap night out and a really tasty dinner.

Ah Sushi Train Unley how I want to love you more but my heart has fallen from your sister (store) as she has been more honorable to me than you. Unfortunately despite choo choo choosing this place as my preferred sushi hang out when I'm in the neighbourhood, I can't quite go past the lower standard of performance this sushi train has compared to my Gouger St favourite. Yes I do play favourites children. The go withouts that have made me reach my star rating: They don't do clam sushi and that is my partner's favourite I went in one Saturday night at peak service period and they only had raw salmon available. Things get a bit boring when you have salmon sashimi, salmon nori, salmon sushi rolls... you get where I'm going The service is a bit slower here than most I won't give up on you though Sushi Train as you are the master of consistently fresh sushi across Adelaide and I love that in a franchise. I just wish you were a little more like your sister...

Sushi Train has always been a consistent go to Japanese place for us. Casual catch ups with friends and all. True to its name it has the conveyor belt and booth or bar seat thing happening like all other branches. The Unley one is one of the newer additions and rather nicely decorated hence our preferred location. Quite often the wait is shorter than the CBD. Food wise Karaage Udon is my regular order along with Aburi Salmon and Okonomiyaki. Their sushi are indeed always fresh and enjoyable. Only thing I would say is they are looking to turn tables as fast as possible. There was once we were asked about 4 times if we were done and a number of waitresses kept looking at our table impatiently wanting to clear us out. It was a weekday late lunch and we were just slower eaters I suppose (between all the chatting) but it made us uncomfortable and there was no need for that. Sadly for that I am giving this place 3 stars instead of 4.

I have been here three times and each time I have been underwhelmed with the quality and variety on offer. If the selection on the train doesn 't do it for you, get in early with the staff and order up, they 'll make it for you reasonably quickly. Tables turn over slowly so expect a wait, and keep in mind it is a popular choice with families, which means streams of kidlets. I prefer the sushi train on Gouger Street for this style of 'fast-food ' sushi, if you are looking for something a little more authentic head around the corner to King William Road, you won 't be dissapointed there.

The freshest sushi I have had in a long while! I am not the most adventurous sushi eater, I'll be honest, I usually stick to tuna and avocado so I find the sushi I like is always there as it's a popular dish. They have always offered to make me my sushi as well if I'm just getting takeaway and I can't see what I want straight away. This sushi train is always busy, busy, busy so the atmosphere reflects that. Once I was there with a friend and after 10mins they were trying to hurry us out! Overall I think this is my fav sushi place in Adelaide AT THE MOMENT....I have just read that the one in the city gives it a run for it's money..so I'll have to check it out soon. Overall the Unley sushi train is clean and friendly, and the sushi is always fresh which is what you want. Hmm I think I'll be getting some sushi for lunch tomorrow!
