Fantastic. Phenomena. Amazing. And more. Charlotte looked around. It was moved to the end of the bar to escape the cold wind (points to confirm happy faces all around. Good melodies good food. We are twice unhappy when we ordered Kim Cheese rice (some bad omen on this plate... What Bubbles Loveday dislikes about Shobosho:
It could have possibly been the dishes I choose but I found most one noted or overtaken by a flavour, the steak tartare was nice but if I had removed the nori it would have taken over completely. The pork dumplings still had raw pork on the inside so they didn’t taste great but the sauce they came with was amazing. The corn was nice, the curry sauce overtook the other element on the plate so I have no idea what that... View all feedback.

Food was ok. Bit over priced for what we had which was the set menu for 10 people. Highlight was salmon entree and dessert but forgot to take picture of dessert. Had a piece of thigh chicken that was undercooked - pink and clear near the bone. Sent back to kitchen but chef thought it was ok. Other chicken pieces were slightly pink but still edible. Felt sorry for the girl sitting next to me. Start of the night she had a waitress drop a dish next to her which had food on her chair and food all over the floor but staff were very quick to clean up and apologise. End of the night another waitress picked up a plate and the cutlery on the plate dropped into her lap with left over food - this waitress not only didn't apologise but then proceeded to tell her next time to put her cutlery on her plate properly. I'm sorry but I've worked in restaurants before and it is not the customers job to put cutlery on a plate properly for a waitress to clean up - the waitress... read more

I was really hoping I'd love this place, but it missed the mark for me. I normally love traditional and modern Japanese food, but found the dishes here way too rich. There was a lack of flavour balance and the dishes don't seem to mesh well together. Some items (e.g. tuna, prawn cracker) were severely over-flavoured and too salty for my tastes. Prices are crazy expensive especially compared to portion size. Ambience is nice, we were seated at the bar which seems to be the practice for couples, but I didn't mind as the open kitchen is very entertaining. Service was great, we were well attended-to throughout the evening. I think this would be a fabulous place for a cocktail with friends and some delicious fresh oysters, but not really a great dining experience.

Really disappointing. Haven’t been to this restaurant for about 18 months. It has changed a lot regarding the menu. We struggled to find a lot that my partner and I agreed to eat. The beef tartare was extremely disappointing. This is often a go to when I see it on a menu. Yet this lacked all flavour. There was no punch or taste. Served with Nori crackers was now dry and tasteless. Ginger and prawn wontons were delicious. Light and flavoursome. Then we got the half chicken. This came with a stodgy bread. Unimpressed. Little edible chicken lots of bones. Lacked flavour. Also got the rocket salad tasteless barely any dressing just a bowl of green leaves. Extremely expensive for what it is. Had an excellent experience at Shobosho! The food was absolutely fantastic—full of bold flavors and beautifully presented. Every dish was a standout. The service was just as impressive: attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely welcoming. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a top-tier dining experience.
