Popular with businessmen as a lunch venue, it’s easy to get to and tucked away in a quiet area near the Science Exchange. It has a modern practical interior. The menu was classic Italian and the food was delicious. My wife had spaghetti carbonara while I enjoyed a mushroom risotto. What traveller-eater doesn't like about Pranzo:
Met someone here for a coffee recently. If we hadn 't been meeting someone we would have walked out before we had even sat down. The place was basically empty but when w walked in I made eye contact with a waiter and indicated a table and asked if it was alright to sit there. His answer was 'no '. A six person ad hoc lunch meeting was very smooth with good food and brilliant service. Seated immediately, orders taken and drinks delivered, food arrives within ten minutes. Great food, very easy. Thank you.

He said the same things when I indicated a different table then he said he was 'only joking ' and laughed while the guy behind the bar snickered. This guy probably thinks he 's hilarious but this is no way to 'greet ' customers who are strangers to you. In my view this 'greeting ' was totally unnecessary and not at all funny. Wont be going back.
Pranzo is located within the Adelaide CBD, and it is a long-standing favorite of many local businessfolk, professionals and civil servants. You can dine either inside or outside- pleasant on a sunny day. They serve breakfast and lunch, as well as coffee or alcoholic beverages in between. It’s a reliable establishment, offering consistent excellence in food, service and ambience. On my most recent visit, I had a delightful Croque Madame for breakfast- perfectly prepared and expeditiously served. Well worth a visit!
My breakfast meeting was at approx 715am ,and I was greeted by someone who certainly made me feel VERY welcome! I was unsure of whether my business meeting guest was in the room, and so I thought I would take a seat and wait. I had asked a couple of other guests to no avail, so I decided to get a coffee and wait. The coffee was amazing, a beautiful smooth blend short macchiato). After my first coffee I decided to order breakfast and not wait too much longer for my meeting. I ordered the herb scrambled eggs with smoked trout and avocado salsa, the food was amazing, truly special I don’t eat bread sometimes chef’s fill the plate with large Turkish bread wedges to fill the plate), my meal was a perfect size, the plate was full and the scrambled eggs were creamy and had fresh herbs, quite different to anything I have eaten before. The trout delicious, and the avocado salsa homemade, tangy, and a terrific compliment to the other elements of my dish. I even had a second coffee unusual), the water flowed from the attendee who was also very attentive and friendly. Well priced and great atmosphere, I am going back for dinner next !
