When we turned up (with a booking), we were told that their system had double booked and there were no tables for us. We were offered seats at the bar, looking into the kitchen. I almost told my partner that we’d go elsewhere, but due to the weather and Gather Round, I wasn’t sure we would get a booking elsewhere. And I’m so glad we stayed! Food was good as were wait staff. Delay between the 3 courses was not. No update re expecting delays. They were obviously busy however it would have been good to know that there would be delays. Had the feeling they kept taking additional table bookings despite delays, View all feedback.
The food was exceptional! Best food we've had so far in Adelaide!!! From the first bite my eyes just lit up with the amazing combination of flavours. It really did satisfy my pallet. I went with my husband at short notice they fit us in, the service was second to none, large portions and quick service. We had the king prawns, braised lamb shoulder and peanut butter parfait desert. Highly recommend this place for locals and everyone visiting Adelaide, it's an absolute must!!!
Good food and atmosphere. All the food was delicious. Our only complaint was that the pork belly dish we ordered had very similar salad and flavour profile to the shredded chicken, not a huge problem as we loved the flavours, but I imagine this could frustrate people looking for some variety across the meal.
I wouldn't say this is a hidden gem but for a Monday night it was a very enjoyable experience. Chalk board with their menu definitely took it too a comfy level of what felt like creating your own experience. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the music was set at the right level. The photos speak for the food, not too heavy, not too light and great serving sizes for sharing. Would go back again
Fantastic food! Absolutely fantastic. Three of us got 1 smaller dish [Eggplantat and okra], 1 bigger dish [lamb shoulder] and a dessert [chocolate gelato] and it ended about $30pp and we burst at the seams. Each individual dish was brilliant in taste and presentation. The atmosphere of the restaurant is really beautiful and the service is also wonderful. Will definitely come back to taste the other dishes!!
Incredible food, amazing combinations, exquisite staff. The Kingfish was amazing, both fried and raw. The lamb should also die. It is worth exploring this amazing restaurant. Your Espresso Martini are also great!
