Danny was our waiter and really elevated our experience. Great service, excellent food and excellent wine recommendations. Highly recommend and thank you Danny! The food here was fantastic, very light and fresh. We are completely vegetarian and we were satisfied. Our waiter, Danny, made our experience 10/10. He chatted to us, recommended and let us try a range of wine so we could drink what we really liked. Service:... View all feedback.
Dinner at Olive a few weeks ago was fantastic—delicious Mediterranean cuisine and tasty cocktails! There were four of us, and we chose the à la carte menu instead of the "feed me" option, but we still left completely satisfied. Highlights included the kingfish crudo with blood orange oil, Espelette, and chive—such a refreshing starter. The rosemary focaccia with brown butter hummus and crispy chickpeas was outstanding bread. The fried feta with honey, sesame, and fermented chili and the zucchini chips with whipped feta and oregano were both incredibly tasty. For mains, the duck cigar with labne and za'atar was excellent, as were the prawns in burnt mandarin paprika butter served with kipfler potato and fennel. The 300g slow-roast lamb shoulder with zhoug and pearl couscous was truly amazing—the lamb cooked to perfection. The sides of fried new potatoes with sumac sour cream and bay oil, along with broccolini in harissa butter, house tahini, and sesame, complemented the meal well. Service was impeccable, making the dining experience even better. Overall, a wonderful dinner with great food, attentive service, and a pleasant atmosphere. Highly recommend! Price per person ranged between $60–80. Food: 5/5, Service: 5/5, Atmosphere: 5/5.
Disappointing experience overall. We’ve dined here a few times before, but this visit fell short. The oysters were sold out, which was a letdown. The baked feta with honey was smothered in chili and had barely any honey—quite different from the two previous times I ordered it. While I enjoy spicy food, this was overwhelmingly hot and almost inedible. The prawns were okay but very oily, and the accompanying potatoes were undercooked and hard; two pieces were inedible. The chicken dish was decent—tasty but nothing extraordinary. Service was average; no one checked if we enjoyed our meal or noticed that some dishes were barely touched. We had to ask for the drinks menu since there seemed to be a shortage of iPads to view it on, and once ordered, the drinks took a long time to arrive.
