This place gets a 5 for their attitude: they do good food and coffee, aren't overpriced, have an eye for design and style, are made up of nice people, have free... read more This place gets a 5 for their attitude: they do good food and coffee, aren't overpriced, have an eye for design and style, are made up of nice people, have free wifi, encourage cafe based work, and (drum roll for the most important element), they are open for what I would consider normal metropolitan business hours- that is 6hrs on a Sunday- 10-4, and 8-5 every other day. If all business shook off their backwards church-based Sunday trading hours (either open for 10mins or closed entirely) like these folks have, Adelaide would be a much more interesting place to live. A word on their coffee. The milk to shot ratio is way off (far too much milk for the coffee- it's a cup size problem), but ordering an extra shot gets around this and makes for a pleasant drinking experience because the other basics of coffee making are there- extraction time about right, milk heated to the right temp and consistency, good quality beans. Now everyone go there and get some work done.

It took a few days f... read more I began dreaming of the waffles with whipped ricotta, figs and berries after seeing a picture of them on the establishments instagram page. It took a few days for me to get there but I got what I came for. The food was fresh, tasty and definitely hit the spot. The nori bowl with salmon also got rave reviews for its combo of flavours and freshness. The coffee was also good and the pricing is very reasonable comparative to akin establishments. And after you're done, hello retail therapy. They have a great range of locally sourced art, clothing, jewellery and homewares. It's a small foodie space and I look forward to returning to sample more of the delights!

I value the power points and that it is ok to sit for a long time and not feel as though you are taking up space. When i order a meal or something smaller, it is always tasty and fresh. Not a cheap place, but when you walk in you know that the focus is on local business, environmental awareness and quality, not cheap choices.

Visiting Adelaide for a wedding, my fiancée wanted a breakfast cafe near her hairdressing appt. in Norwood. I found Brick+Mortar Creative On Google maps, it had great reviews and the menu looked appetising and affordable. They didn’t disappoint. We spent the first 10 minutes looking at all the great gift ideas in the shop. Much of it is made by local artisans or Australian designers. Our two year old daughter was drawn to the free (while dining) toys. The friendly staff grabbed us a high chair, we grabbed a few toys for our daughter, and sat down at one of the many table options (There are a couple tables outside as well). The prices for breakfast are quite good. The poached eggs served on yummy sourdough where a favourite, and the toastie was quite good as well. The only pricey but was the side of avocado. For $3.50 we only got three slivers. But, they made up for it by meeting our request for a free side of milk for our daughter’s oats. The coffee, served in really cool cups made out of recycled organic leftovers from the coffee making process (that’s what I think the sign said), was exceptional. You can buy the cups in store. I’ve only been to a few cafes in Adelaide. But this just might be my favourite thus far. It certainly has a better indoor layout than anything on the Gold Coast.
