This place is where all the locals gather along with the tourists. It is a very nice place with good cheap light snacks and drinks. The staff were excellent especially the girl behind the counter who helped with my question about buses. Lovely ice cream here too. The locals are all friendly despite not speaking English.
The place looks pretty bad but that is a standard in southern Italy so I didn't bother. Ice cream were OK (a bit watery) but the worst part was stale and old canollo which is a damn shame. Coffee was OK but had a burned taste. I go to all the local bars around Sicily in bigger and small cities but this one was the worst so far. The only good thing about it is that it's close to the sea and has a nice view.
On holiday we popped in here most days. Great cool snacks and wine. Friendly staff and always busy. Great spot to chill and watch the world go by.
After 1 hour driving on the Etna without seeing much and without finding one bar or restaurant open, we bumped into the Blue Bar. Ice cream was excellent and so were the biscuits and the coffee. Correct service and very clean place. A pleasure.
We went there for coffee as we had totally missed breakfast at our B&B got up at 12.30pm So I had two espressos €0.80 each!!! one of those mini calzone filled with ham and melted cheese which was really yummy €1.70 and a cappuccino for my wife €1.20 . The restaurant is right by the sea, it is not not your posh place by far. But the service was great and friendly. And so inexpensive.
