I decided to try the Kurkuma rice, which was prepared with turmeric and served alongside a spicy-sweet sauce that included soy. It was quite tasty, although I would have preferred the option to choose my own dishes. The dining area has a rustic charm. What User doesn't like about Assase Pa The Earth Is Good:
The place is located on a public parking which is quite odd, i found it by accident. I had a green local vegetable stew with tofu, fried plantains and palm oil, it was very good. The waitress also brought over water to wash my hands. I bought some very good black soap, it s vegan and makes my skin very soft. View all feedback.
So I chose turmeris. To be this transpires, vegetable rice with turmeric, served with a spicy vegetable sauce mix, including soy chicks. It was very nice, though I would have preferred to choose what I ate. The dining area is more than a bit rustic. I returned and had some of the snacks that were ludfully cheap and absolutely delicious since then Kebabs. There is a small grocery store that sells various things, including imported soy, coconut and oat milk at regular international prices. It is very close to Rising Phoenix, in fact you have to hand it over to Rising Phoenix. The hotel is located in the parking lot on the right of the Mausoleum. Updated by previous review on 2019-06-19
In the midday heat, Assase Pa is the perfect place to sit in the shade, enjoy a breeze and take your time. The staff is very patient explaining the options (whereas they also don't have a menu) and the food is tasty with vegan meat replacements watch out through, it's very spicy. We payed GHC12 for big portions and GHC1 for a drink.
A real gift in a veg desert! Not your typical vegan place, this is strictly local fare. Portions are large and cheap. I had fufu and soup. Never had fufu before. It was good, and its mild taste went well with the spicy veggie soup. Fufu is vaguely like Hawaiian poi a large sticky mass, which is much better than that sounds. Serving was huge, size of 2 large potatoes, and soup bowl similar, so I packed some out. Also has many other main dishes, bread for takeout, other takeout items.
Ok, assase pa is not in the ama compound. it's diagonally across the street, off of high st, near kwame nkrumah park. i tried a yam ball, which was quite good, palmnut soup, which was excellent, and fufu, which wasn't that flavorful, but was very filling. plus, i got a red ginger drink that was the spiciest beverage i've ever consumed, it was good though. the staff was friendly and the restaurant was busy. i also picked up a few things from the shop. the prices, compared to the states, where very reasonable. this place is a must stop when in accra.
The Assase Pa located in Accra is a wonderful improvement from the Cape Coast Asasse Pa. Although both locations are affiliated, they have different management/ownership. This location has been owned and managed by the same person from its opening and, as such, is much more consistent in terms of customer service and quality. The main seating is outdoors in tropically decorated surroundings. Indoor seating is also provided and features a very large library of health conscious books. This location provides a mini vegan store which sells health products that are hard to find in Ghana (although the last few times I went they were selling a few not so healthy commercial brand products). Their vegan snack bar is by far the best I've experienced of the vegetarian restaurants in Ghana Tofu kebabs, wheat kebabs, bean curd kebabs, cinnamon rolls, coconut bread, yam balls etc. The main menu items are also very good, however, are not always prepared the same way which is disappointing when you have been enjoying a particular dish and then it suddenly changes to mediocre with different ingredients. Prices are affordable, especially considering that you get a lot of food for what you are paying. Located next to the beach (walking distance), next door to the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, and the Centre for National Arts and Culture. Updated from previous review on Wednesday June 27, 2012
