What User doesn't like about Kuching Corner:
I ordered the char kwai teow and the dose of soft drink for an evening meal. the employee was kind and I didn't have to wait long for my order. it was mostly noodles with not enough whan, garnel or Chinese noodles. the order was almost $20, almost as expensive as meal times in the nicer rhys' restaurant in the coopers colonial motel on the whole street. Today at 12.30 a.m., I am greeted by stella. I see that jimmy in the kitchen works his magic with his wok. stella recommends several dishes and I choose for the singapore har mee (prawn noodle). my lunch arrives in 10 minutes with a side of sambal. this chili paste significantly improves my delicious meal. many thanks! phuong tran
Have not been back to this Malaysian restaurant nearly two years so re-visited it last night. Walked in around 6:00pm and it was not that busy and we were the only table dining in. After perused the menu, we decided to go for the Kuching Fried Vermicelli, Kuching Laksa and a dish of fried Chicken Wings with additional drinks of Honey Lime. Always love the passionate service and their homey style of preparation, which reflects the authenticity of traditional Sarawakian cuisine. Homemade honey lime drinks are a new nice experience and we think we will try other homemade drinks on our...read more
First time take away order from this place, which I'd seen while ordering from the Indian take away in the same group of shops some time ago (worthwhile if you like decent Indian food btw). The menu we had previewed on here from the pics. Our order came to $50 on the on line menu, but was approx $5 more expensive when we went to pick it up so these menus are Pre price hike. We ordered a kung Po chilli chicken, a salt and pepper pork spare ribs, a combination chow mien and an extra large special friend rice. The lady serving was very friendly, (hence 2 stars), but that’s where it ends. The combo chow mien comes with those horrible dry deep friend broken up hokkein noodles in...read more
Hands down THE BEST INDIAN MEE GORENG IN TOWN!!! The dish didn 't lack flavour, spice or char/ wok hey , it was definitely all you could ask of a mee goreng on a cold breezy night! Had the kampua/fu chow kolo mee which had the right accompaniments and aroma to it but the noodles were tad soggy and the char siew and mushroom pork mince lacked flavour. Nevertheless, super keen to return to try the Sarawak laksa, watanhor and loh mee next! Lovely friendly service and clean environment!
In search of a meal with a bit of zing and a tone of flavour we didn’t have to travel far to find this small gem Located in Acacia Ridge on the site of an old Chinese favourite now lyes this great blend of Asian flavours. Simple in decor, the food makes up it! We ordered some simple dishes to road test the cuisine. Service is prompt, dine in was on the menu and the Mee Goreng, Sweet/Sour Pork and one other order and was just fabulous! Food was speedy, descent portions and after plowing through, enough left to take home with complimentary containers. Rice and Noodles just super! Pork tender, battered fried with a delicious homemade sauce. Terrific bite, must return to try more chefs...read more
