Because my friends and I are not... read more This is a little cute Filipino bakery. The staff are nice and would offer you a discount if you buy a large quantity of cakes. Because my friends and I are not very familiar with Filipino desert, we find it very interesting to try every variety they have to offer. The breads and/or cakes are affordable and interesting to taste. Try their purple cakes (not sure of its name, but you can't miss it).

It was in the early days of our arrival last year in Abu Dhabi when hubby and I would just drive around, find parking, and walk to places that looked like somewhere we would like to eat. And Bread Connection was one of the very first. And it was a sweet surprise. And a savoury one, too, when I discovered they served arroz caldo (chicken rice porridge, served with half a hard-boiled egg . The arroz caldo really hit the spot for me. They also had turron (deep-fried banana wrapped in a spring-roll skin and lumpia (deep-fried vegetable spring roll . So, this was my opportunity to introduce lumpia to hubby as I had always raved about it, and Bread Connection's fit the praise. We have been back several times since. As Aditya Nair noted in his review back in 2012, Bread Connection really can come across as too colourful in its confectionery selections, but that aside, the taste of their goodies is really quite good. Plus, they have cosy seating areas, so you can sit there to eat as well, if you want to, which we did, and enjoyed chatting with the servers and also the owner. I'll have to go back for more arroz caldo, turron, and breads and cakes, and get her name again. And photos, too, of course. Have to capture all those rainbow colours! :   Update: got some photos on a short trip there recently.
