The onion rings were hard. I mean hard enough to break teeth on. the bread was soggy. no straws in the bag. milkshakes were good though... spent $40 and the only thing edible or good were the milkshakes
I had high hopes for Portillo's after moving to the Midwest, as everyone kept telling me it was the place to go for a real Chicago-style hot dog when you can't make it to the city. Unfortunately, I was let down. I arrived early when the restaurant opened, and it took a bit for the staff to acknowledge me, which I understood since they were just starting their day. However, once they did, they were very friendly. Sadly, the food itself was quite bland and didn't live up to my expectations. The decor was a nostalgic Americana theme featuring Elvis and other icons, but that couldn't make up for the lackluster meal. Will I go back? No, probably not.
Wow, that was absolutely delicious! As an Italian, I can confidently say the Italian roast beef is fantastic. Be sure to get it dipped with extra au jus—you'll be glad you did!
Everything they serve is AMAZING! I had never tried their milkshakes before, but I decided to indulge in a Chocolate Cake Milkshake, and oh my goodness, it was absolutely delicious!
