I had high hopes for Portillo's after moving to the Midwest, as everyone kept telling me it was the place to go for a real Chicago-style hot dog when you can't... read more I had high hopes for Portillo's after moving to the Midwest, as everyone kept telling me it was the place to go for a real Chicago-style hot dog when you can't make it to the city. Unfortunately, I was let down. I arrived early when the restaurant opened, and it took a bit for the staff to acknowledge me, which I understood since they were just starting their day. However, once they did, they were very friendly. Sadly, the food itself was quite bland and didn't live up to my expectations. The decor was a nostalgic Americana theme featuring Elvis and other icons, but that couldn't make up for the lackluster meal. Will I go back? No, probably not.

The only somewhat decent item was the Breade... read more I tried Portillo's for the first time, and I won’t be going back. All of our food was cold, and it tasted terrible. The only somewhat decent item was the Breaded Chicken Sandwich, but the lettuce was wilted and dark green. They also didn’t provide the ketchup we requested.
