Szechuan Chinese Restaurant - Abilene

First visit my friend and I both had different plates we sampled each others and they were both great! I love how it is hot fresh food not been sitting on a buffet for hours. They have the BEST spring rolls and a very good lunch serving size with a soup! Our waiter was wonderful however the second time I went with my sister our waitress was on the lower end of tentativeness. Highly recommend the general tso!

I recently ordered take out for my family, and grandkids and we were so hungry for Asian food. They got our order wrong and I had to take it back for replacement. They were nice about it but the food just wasn't up to par. My Szechuan chicken tasted like chicken in tomatoe soup. Ive ate this dish many times and its supposed to have chicken, fresh vegetables, and its supposed to be spicy! This just had chicken with some kind of tomatoe sauce on it. I returned it and got something different. My family said they were disappointed in the overall taste and quality of the dishes they ordered. I'm sure it probably is much better to go inside and dine but we were tired and just wanted to eat at home. It's just not fun when you have to return things. This used to be the #1 place on our list years ago, before they opened this big restaurant. We miss the old Szechuan restaurant. The kids loved to stand at the window and watch the cooks prepare the food, which was never disappointing. It was just a let down to pay around $85 for take out and it was so bland. The stir fried rice wasn't even good. It was just rice with a little soy sauce stirred in. I will say they were nice and apologized, but we won't be doing take out again for a long while.

I heard egg rolls were back so I headed right over. They were back for sure but not exactly the same. They seem smaller and lack the great flavor I remembered it the worst thing was they were served very cold and soggy. This was off putting and not sure I would get them again. (maybe for one more visit to see if it was a bad day). The wonton soup was as good as I remember and the Curry Chicken was the best. I have never had a better Chicken Curry.
