Cotton Patch Cafe is the most underrated restaurant in Abilene. I've been eating there since they opened on a regular basis and I can honestly say that I've never had a bad meal or bad service. I can't say that about any other restaurant in Abilene. Ithink the best thing about it is that I've never had to wait more than a few minutes for a table. Also, they always bring outthe food within 15 minutes and it's always hot and delicious! This is always my first choice when going out to eat on weekendsor when guests are in town. It may not be very fancy, but it's always good!
About two months ago, I visited Cotton Patch and ordered the fish and chips, which were absolutely delicious and expertly prepared. However, my recent visit did not measure up to that experience. Despite this, the other dishes I tried were generous in portion and quite good. The service was excellent, and the prices were reasonable.
We visited on Veterans Day 2022, and the restaurant was quite busy. The staff worked incredibly hard, efficiently seating and serving customers with impressive speed. Everyone was friendly, and the food was delicious. The table they set up to honor our veterans was beautifully arranged, showing great thoughtfulness and respect.
We visited the restaurant on Veterans Day, and they offered veterans a wonderful chicken fried steak along with two sides. The steak was excellent, and the rolls were delicious! The baked potatoes that my wife and I had were among the best we've had in a long time. Thank you, Cotton Patch! We made sure to order appetizers, drinks, and other food items to help support the restaurant, as it’s the kind gesture that matters, not just the free meal. They also had a lovely remembrance table set up for those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Our group of 20 visited the restaurant last night around 9 PM, just an hour before they closed. We received outstanding service! The food was excellent, and the waitstaff handled our large group impressively. They were very accommodating when we discovered we had more people than we originally counted. Thank you for providing us with a wonderful evening to celebrate our graduate!
We come in alot with our crew. And everytime we have had great service. And with a party of 7 it's hard to please us all. You have one waiter named Chris that waited on us a couple months ago and everytime we come in he will come to our table to high five and joke with our kids even though we aren't seated in his section. Really makes them feel special. That's the kind of staff that keeps us coming back each (well that and the broccoli, don't ever get rid of that) we as a family will definitely ask for Chris from now on. The other wait staff that has waited on us has always been great but we don't ever see them again.
I love, love, love this place! The building is beautiful, the staff is absolutely charming and friendly! The grilled pork chops and steamed broccoli, And the rice, ARE to die for. This is my new place, my kitchen away from home place! I'll be back real soon!
The chicken-fried bacon is incredible—I really hope it stays on the menu! The chicken-fried chicken was fantastic as well. However, the chicken-fried steak could have used a bit more seasoning. Our waiter was exceptional, possibly providing the best service I’ve ever experienced. Even during the busy lunch rush, our drinks never dropped below 50%, which made us feel valued.
I visited this restaurant with my boss for the first time, and I was truly impressed. The food was fantastic, but the service was even better. Our server, Margaret, was exceptional—make sure to ask for her! The service exceeded my expectations; I didn’t even have to request a drink refill. She was cheerful, friendly, and very professional, always with a smile on her face. I can’t give a higher compliment than to say I highly recommend this place!

Fatucine alfredo was watery and bland. The chicken served a dish was dry and salty. Chicken fried chicken was good as well as fried okra. Not impressed by the meal at all.
We ate Veterans Day and they gave veterans a fantastic, tasty chicken fried steak with two sides! The steak was great, the rolls were delicious! The baked potato me and my wife were some of the best we had in a while. Thanks Cotton Patch? We make sure we order appetizers, drinks and other foods; to make sure they still make a profit. It's the kind of gesture that counts, not the free meal. They also had a beautiful memory table for those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
We went to Veteran? Day 2022 and it was extremely busy. The staff worked out his tails, made every excellent job of the seats and served the customers quickly and efficiently. All were friendly and the food was delicious. The table they set up for the honor of our veterans was beautiful and a very attentive and respectful gesture.
About 2 months ago I went to the Cotton Patch and had fish and chips. It was absolutely delicious and well done. I just visited recently and it was nowhere near so good. But I'll say the rest of the food was generous and very good. The service was great and the price was reasonable.
2 of last 3 trips they were unable to fill my online order, but NO ONE notified me!! I drove all the way there only to be told my order was not filled. This time they did not have enough green tomatoes to fill my order, the staff told me. It 's just one of those things. It 's not our fault. Then they just walked without offering a refund or at least the difference in price for the smaller order!!?? Had to ask for the manager to get my refund and then was told it would take 7 business days. She then abruptly walked away. I recommend strongly skipping Cotton Patch. Customer Service is not in their vocabulary!! Negative 2 stars!!!
