Was George Campbell at Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen a mag?
The food was excellent. We ordered a 6oz steak, chicken fried steak, and chicken tenders, all of which were well-prepared. However, the wait for our meals was longer than we anticipated, especially since we dined in on a Wednesday night. Our server was attentive at first, but when it was time to pay, we had to call him over for a paper receipt. Overall, it was a decent experience. View all feedback.

What Arkaholiks Wolfpack dislikes about Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen:
The service from the waiter was disappointing after we placed our order. We had to wait an hour for one of our meals to arrive, and then an additional 33 minutes for the rest of us to get our food. By then, all the food was cold. I had heard many great reviews about the service and food at this restaurant in Abilene, Texas, but I must say this location fell short. It's also extremely noisy and loud. View all feedback.

Unfortunately, my son's grilled cheese was also burnt, so that was sent back for recooking as well. After a wait of twenty minutes, I finally received my recooked steak. The manager who brought out the steak did not introduce himself and did not apologize for the overcooked steak or the wait. He simply asked me to cut into it to see if it was okay. A few minutes later, another manager brought my son's grilled cheese, but he also did not say anything. Kyle checked in to see if a manager had spoken to me, and I informed him that no one had introduced themselves or addressed the issues. Afterward, Mario, one of the managers, came over to talk. I shared my thoughts on how disrespectful it was for the managers to not introduce themselves or attempt to resolve the situation. Having worked in the food industry, I know that ignoring a customer’s issues is one of the worst mistakes you can make. While I didn’t expect a complete refund, I felt that some acknowledgment or compensation should have been offered when the recooked meal was presented. The manager's dismissive attitude and lack of respect for paying customers was the most disappointing part of the experience. In the end, he offered a 10% discount on our bill, but paying was a hassle due to the kiosk, which took almost 20 minutes and required Kyle to go back to the manager four times to resolve. Additionally, the recooked steak ended up being over-peppered, and the potato was smaller than the first one served. In summary: the waiter was excellent, but the managers really need to improve their customer service and learn how to cook steak properly.

For our appetizer, we ordered the Wisconsin cheese bites, but they arrived at room temperature and lacked the gooey, cheesy pull that we were hoping for. The Monte Cristo sandwich ($11) was generous and could easily be shared. I personally ordered the Key West chicken and shrimp ($14), which was quite tasty. However, our drinks were not as presented on the menu and tasted more like Kool-Aid. At $6 each, I suppose I shouldn't have had high expectations there. Overall, it was a mixed experience, and I doubt I will be returning.

The service made us feel like we were a nuisance, and the ambiance was the worst I’ve experienced in quite some time. There was trash and food scattered on the floor from the lunch rush, even at 4 PM. I ultimately decided to leave.
