The atmosphere here is amazing; it's definitely the best buffet in Abilene. It's not only cleaner than other places, but the selection of food is also far better. The customer service is excellent, and they even offer entrees that you can take home in a box from the buffet. On top of that, the prices are very reasonable!
We dined there today, and unfortunately, our grandbaby experienced a medical issue—not an emergency, but still quite serious. We had to cut our meal short to get her home quickly, leaving us with four full plates of food. We asked the waiter to check with the manager about being able to take the food with us since we needed to leave right away. He informed us that we could, but we'd have to pay an extra $20 for that privilege. Tera decided it was better to leave the food behind. It’s alarming to see how someone could act this way when a child is involved. When we settled the bill, I told them to let the manager know that this situation was unacceptable. Given how often we've visited and how much we've spent there, it feels wrong to be treated this way. I can’t support a place run by someone so focused on money and lacking compassion. This experience has truly left a bad taste in my mouth.
The food was decent overall. The glass noodles, crab rangoons, and curry were enjoyable, although the crab rangoons lacked any actual crab meat. There were many mislabeled dishes, and some were not labeled at all. The lo mein and fried noodles tasted as if they were made with spaghetti instead of egg noodles, which wasn’t very appealing. On the positive side, there were plenty of good seafood options available.
