Allegro Pizzeria - Aberlour

My wife and I stopped here for lunch. We split a 10 pizza which just the right amount (almost a little too much) for the two of us. We got the chicken pesto pizza it was loaded with toppings (loved the artichoke) and baked so that the crust was perfect.

We were looking for a traditional Italian place and we found it here! The thin pizza Arturo’s special was awesome and the sausage spaghetti was overflowing on the plate so the perfect place for a pre-race carb loading!!

The food was great. A little bit on the pricey side, but good overall!

They make thin and thick crust pizza. We had Pizza Del Mar. Friendly crowd! Great food. Pleasant service!

I have been going to Allegro Pizzeria for years each time we visit the Monterey area. I was introduced to this place on a meetup because it is one of the few places that can handle a large group of hungry hikers. Now, we always go there after hiking Point Lobos. The 10 is plenty large for one person. If you plan to split a pizza, go for the 12 or larger. I like that the pizza is wood fired and always tasty. My favorite is the chicken pesto. This place is not trendy or loud. You can have a nice meal and actually hear the people you are talking with around the table.
