This shop has a wonderful range of the sweeties that I gorged on as a bairn and the soor plooms on offer here are as good as my grannie slipped me when my mother wasn't looking. So I asked for a 2 ozs but had to make do with 100gms. When are we leaving the EU? Worth a visit. View all feedback.
What Joshua Young doesn't like about Speciality Sweet Shop:
a family went into this last and we waited behind them. the serviceman spent 7 minutes talking to a lady about antiques and not serving them or recognized them so that they went. I waited in the old one, and then he said we're not open, ice cream and sweets for sale until 2! So I went out too. what is the point of having such a load if they do not want to serve the customers antiques View all feedback.
Rude ! Rude! Rude! Pity this guy doesn’t have more competition in Braemar , he is very rude and doesn’t deserve our custom
During our week-long stay in the village at the end of August, we were disappointed to find that the sweet shop/ice cream shop remained closed the entire time despite their posted opening hours. The antiques side of the shop was open, but not the part we were most interested in. It was a shame, especially considering the hot weather, as we were sure many others would have enjoyed purchasing an ice cream. Hopefully, we'll have the chance to visit when we return at Christmas.
Sign on door states 4 people allowed in at any time so given 1 person ws in the shop we entered. We were advised to wait outside which we did very aware of COVID. When shop was empty we entered and asked politely if ok to enter. We went in and apologised for entering previously explaining the sign said 4 people were allowed in shop and MR ANGRY behind counter started shouting waving his hands stating he didn't want to serve us and we should leave the shop which we glady did. Never met such a horrible man. What a way to treat visitors in a tourist location... Glad we didn't spend money in this horrible man's shop. We did have a lovely ice cream in Blairgowrie on way South. Avoid at all costs.
I have a medical exemption from wearing a face mask due to my disability. The man serving me initially allowed me to enter the shop and start placing my order, but then asked me where my mask was. When I explained my exemption, he rudely said, "well, you are exempt from this shop." His behavior was so mean and nasty that it made me cry. This incident caught me completely off guard, as he had initially allowed me to enter and begin placing my order. This is a clear case of disability discrimination. I would recommend avoiding this place at all costs.
I stopped by this restaurant for a couple of soft serve cones, and they were amazing. But the staff also went above and beyond by replacing my son's ice cream for free after he dropped it. The hospitality in the Highlands is top-notch. 5 stars.
