Established in 1986, Szechuan is a beloved family-run Chinese Takeaway located in the heart of Westhill. The journey of our owners began when they moved from Hong Kong to Scotland in the late 1970s, ultimately leading them to settle in Westhill, Aberdeenshire, where they opened one of the first retail units in the Westhill Shopping Centre. At Szechuan, we take pride in offering a diverse selection of Cantonese cuisine alongside a few popular Thai dishes, all prepared fresh to order right on the premises. Whether you prefer to walk in, collect your meal, or enjoy the convenience of delivery within Westhill, we warmly welcome you to experience the flavors of our kitchen. You can easily find us directly opposite Marks Spencer Amazon Lockers in the Westhill Shopping Centre. Our menu features delectable options such as Szechuan Crispy Aromatic Duck, Szechuan Beef Curry, and an array of scrumptious dishes like Special Mix Meat Spicy Kon Po, Duck Lemon Sauce, and Salt Pepper Chicken Wings. For your convenience, we accept cash on delivery or card mobile payments upon collection. Our opening hours are Wednesday to Thursday from 4pm to 9.00pm, and Friday to Saturday from 4pm to 9.30pm, with Sunday hours from 4pm to 9.00pm. We order Chinese food from this restaurant once a week. The lady at the front desk is very friendly. Some of our favorite dishes include honey chili beef, crispy pork chow mein, HN fried rice, sweet and sour chicken balls, and HN satay skewers. It's just a shame that they no longer make my favorite crispy dish.

I pre-ordered my food, but they only started cooking it when I arrived at the restaurant at the designated time. Unfortunately, it was not good. The berries tasted like soy sauce and the food was dry. The dish pictured in their menu looked nothing like what I received - it was flat and tasteless. I will not be returning to this restaurant.

I can't say that this is the worst Chinese food I've ever had, but I have pretty low standards when it comes to food. I will eat anything, even if it's soggy or over-spiced. The Eierknebel was lacking in filling, and the BBQ sauce was overly salty. The sweet spring roll had a strange combination of ingredients, like pear sprout, which doesn't belong in a spring roll. It seems like they just throw whatever they have together and hope for the best. Fortunately, there aren't many other Chinese restaurants in Westhill, so they don't really have any competition. Overall, I would say that they are a bit lazy in their approach to food.
