Very good food. Sister comes here everyday with her work crew so we stopped by to have lunch with her.
What a great find. Small town, everyone knows your name kind of joint. Was hoping they had lunch and the menu did not disappoint. Was going to have the shrimp poboy, but heard everyone paying stating that they had the hamburger, so I had to give I a try. Had the smokehouse cheeseburger with grilled onions, bacon and a half pound of fat dripping hamburger. Haven't had a burger that juicy in a coons age! A bit disappointed in the chops. Menu positioned them as gourmet kettle chips. I was hoping for homemade. They were Lay's. Service was very quick. No fountain soda, but the waitress dropped another can of Mountain Dew in front of me when I drained the first can into my glass.
Stopped in for breakfast and the menu was very limited. I ordered two biscuits with gravy and two eggs with ham. They were out of ham but I was told they were going to get some in a few minutes meaning someone was going to the store. I settled for bacon. The biscuits and gravy were the same as you can expect at a truck stop help yourself place and the biscuits were hard. That was easy enough to overlook. Here's the kicker, when I went to check out the waitress started filling out the ticket with prices that were more than what was advertised on the menu. When I protested I was told the prices had just gone up. I explained that I was expecting to pay the price on the menu. After a volley the owner/cook gets involved and insists I pay the unlisted price and then threatens that if I ever came back she would call the police. So much for southern charm.
