Dinner was a complete sensory experience, with reworked, delicious dishes accompanied by excellent presentations from the experienced staff. Every detail has been thought through in each course, including the complimentary food. The service was superbly friendly and didn't hesitate to share every detail...about our dinner in perfect English given our poor Danish. Sure we will visit again when back in the region! So amazed by this experience. Great staff. Very welcoming, passionate and eager to provide an evening I will never forget. They are partly inspired by the localities. Each of them amazes in their own good way. Enough reason, or maybe the reason, to make a stopover in Fredrikshavn. Worth every crown!
That was a beer and was welcomed. The waiter/owner was very serviceminded, and I had a good time. I didn't eat anything so I can't comment on the food.
Went here for a family night out. In total five of us went. This is a new restaurant that opened November 2018. The ambiance is a bit rustic but absolutely great. The restaurant was opened by a sister and brother. She is the chef and...he is mainly responsible for the dishes and service. The work gratvaerk is very northern Jutland and very much slang. They are going for lick your plate good food They got it. We have a small thing from the kitchen for starters with a small lobster bisque, and a small meshed potato ball. The mashed potatoes was made with half milk and half cream with a little cod. Wow really tasty. The first course was beef tartar with dried and recooked red beets. The dish came with a bit of leek mayonnaise. Wonderful presentation and very tasty. The main course was beef curvet with 5 different variations of onions. Again a perfect presentation and very tasty. The beef was presented as medium/medium rare. The dessert was a variation of sorbet and ice from blackberries with black chocolate with almonds and raisins with oat crumble. The food was absolutely fantastic. As we went on a Sunday they had only the prefix menu. The price per person was only $35 which is a fantastic menu for that price. If you are in Frederikshavn please go see them.
There is no doubt that Gratværk is the new No. 1 restaurant in Frederikshavn! We had the pleasure of visiting the restaurant for dinner, and had the 3-course set menu food was excellent and the prices very reasonable. The restaurant is very small but...cozy and inviting. Although the restaurant was full, and it seemed as if only two employees were around (the owners they managed a great and enthusiastic service.
Restaurant Gratværk is such a cozy romantic place! Not only is there beautiful and delicious food, but the atmosphere is something you can't find anywhere in Northern Denmark! The waiter is the most knowledgeable and friendliest guy in town. My wife and I have several appointments here and we enjoyed every bite and minute together! It's a must to try the delicious food and enjoy an amazing evening with friends, family or the one you love.
