One downside; the restaurant needs to provide for separate checks for groups at a table. This is a very basic requirement when more than one couple are seated together.

Fortunately I also had my laminated list of foods I can't have. This tells me the chef might not welcome such inquiries, but also they were preparing for a big party. The hostess was booking another one and quickly ducked in a corner. She basically ignored me. Finally someone got the manager and she looked like a deer caught in headlights when I provided feedback.
