Small taberna at in the middle of riverside tracks by 10th century monastery. Perfect refreshing sangria and fair priced artisan sandwiches based on galician cuisine great stop for anyone taking a walk nearby.
This place is amazing. Always open for cool drinks and tasty snacks for when you've hiked either along the river from Pontedeume or from one of the other numerous trails around the Eume. A native Atlantic forest dripping with lichens, sweet chestnuts and home to lots of deer and wild boar. We really like it as unlike most places in Spain, this isn't just for big posh family meals although you can eat your fill). It's more about simple hearty delicious food with huge amounts of care put into every ingredient. You can stop just for a coffee or have a wonderful lunch. There's outdoor and indoor seating and the friendliest staff. As a vegetarian coeliac with fussy kids, I get used to eating out in Spain being impossible. But they even have gluten free bread and are happy to adapt the food. Added in with the bonus of beautiful river walks, an amazing ancient monastery to visit and even the thrill of an electric bike to hire. It's a wonderful day out.
