It was b... read more When I lived in Nagasaki, I often ate Goto udon as a finishing touch after drinking, so I am grateful and excited that I can eat Goto udon in Kumamoto. It was bustling during weekday lunch hours. There is a parking lot on the gravel land on the north side of the store. I had kettle-cooked udon. The dipping sauce was a combination of beaten egg and soy sauce, dashi broth, and fried tempura bits. I especially liked the dashi broth. I would have been even happier if the noodles were a bit firmer. Thank you for the meal!

The udo... read more I had the "udon lunch set" at Gotoan Udon for lunch. It came with pickled vegetables, a side dish (tonkatsu that day), and shredded cabbage for 880 yen. The udon at Gotoan is thin with a nice chewy texture, and goes down smoothly. The broth was flavorful and delicious. It warmed me up from the inside out, making it especially tasty on a cold winter day.

I could choose between hot soup and cold soup for the udon, and I chose hot soup. It had a really delicious broth, and I drank it all up. They also took proper measures for COVID-19, with each counter seat spaced apart. They thoroughly disinfected after each customer left. It was before 2pm and there were many customers, but the female employees were attentive and friendly. I thought they were wonderful.
