The restaurant, with a lodge-style building made of large logs, blends naturally into the surroundings. Due to the limited staff, the service is self-service. Depending on the time of day, there may be some waiting time, so patience is key. The menu offers a wide variety of dishes, from noodles to set meals. I enjoyed the delicious food. There is not a lot of parking, so it is okay to park along the roadside. There are also restrooms in a separate building.
This is a quiet country diner, but my recommendation is the karaage set meal. The side dishes are also very delicious and it was so good to eat~ I was satisfied with it. There are also recipes using local highland eggs and the menu is extensive. I highly recommend it.
It was a valuable lunch spot where you can casually enjoy a hearty meal at Kohyadaira. When cycling to Kohyadaira, it is usually around midday... so it was the perfect find for a great meal. I will make this place a regular stop from now on, especially since Ohzakura has stopped serving lunch. On my first visit, I was hungry so I went for the hearty Stamina Bowl, which was full of pork belly and had a rich flavor that was just right for my tired body. On my second visit, I tried the Karaage Bowl for 700 yen... it was similar to the Stamina Bowl haha. Plus, in the back tatami room, there was a group having a party. They looked like they were having a great time, which was nice to see.
