Cafe　うづき - 幕別町

Situated along a national highway in the outskirts of Mukibetsu town, this standalone house is easy to miss if you don't pay attention to the sign. Stepping onto the premises, you are greeted by a quaint corner filled with pottery and herbal teas. Inside, the calm ambiance is set by gentle music playing in the background as a lone patron enjoys their time in peace. Through the windows, you can catch a glimpse of the garden, the highway, and vast fields surrounding the restaurant. The coffee selection ranges from mild to bitter, with the bitter option having a balanced bitterness and low acidity, making it easy to drink. I chose the blueberry pie from the six available options, which featured a crispy pie crust topped with a mildly sweet custard cream and blueberry sauce. It had a light texture and was delicious. Although this restaurant may not stand out in the outskirts, it's a good place to stop by during a drive to relax and enjoy the view.

The restaurant has been open on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays since May this year. I visited late, so I assumed the cakes would be sold out since the showcase was empty. However, I was pleased to find out that there were two types of cakes left, so I ended up ordering both. Both the cheesecake and blueberry muffin were just as delicious as I remembered from half a year ago. It looks like I will be coming back here regularly until winter.

I was able to visit this restaurant for the first time in 3 years. The atmosphere is still wonderful as ever. The iced coffee and blueberry muffin were delicious.
