Visited for the first time on May 25, 2022. I stayed at Ureshino Onsen without meals, so I searched on Tabelog and found this restaurant near the inn. Since it was a popular restaurant on Tabelog, it was recommended to make a reservation, so I called the restaurant before stopping by Ureshino-kan for a quick bath and made a reservation for a counter seat. It was a good thing I called ahead, as the counter seat was comfortable. Immediately, I ordered a beer. Then, I had sashimi of shimaji, a salad of prosciutto and tomato, which was refreshing. After that, I tried their most popular dish, the "bone-in kalbi", which did not disappoint. I can see why it's the most popular. The sauce was delicious and the meat was tender. Around this time, I switched to a decanter of red wine and added yakitori to my order. Finally, I ordered the local sake "Toichi" to finish off the meal. I heard it was sweet, but it wasn't at all. If I were to describe it as fruity and sweet, that would be misleading. It was a refreshing and good sake. I paired this sake with the "otome garlic soy sauce grilled", which was amazing. Garlic without a strong smell that you can eat all the way to the root. It was the perfect accompaniment. It was a fun and delicious experience at this restaurant.
Everything was delicious. This restaurant is very popular, so reservations are essential. We didn't know and couldn't get in, so we had to make a reservation for another day. The restaurant opens at 6:00 PM, but there were already many people waiting, so make sure to reserve in advance!
