This restaurant is popular. Even if there are customers waiting, tell the staff your name and buy your meal ticket first. If you wait outside without knowing, you might be skipped over, but the staff will come out and inform you. If you provide your car's license plate number, they will come all the way to the parking lot to let you know when a table is available. The service is excellent. I stopped by while passing through near Hiroshima for work. The interior of the restaurant is small, but the udon was exquisite. The 300 yen meat rice had a perfect balance of meat and rice and was delicious. Be careful as dishes labeled "black" are spicy. The tempura was well-fried and tasty. Everything I tried was delicious, and when I added the quail tempura, it was also bite-sized and excellent! My daughter, who came with me, also highly praised the food. Whenever I visit Yamaguchi Prefecture, I make a detour to stop by here.
Located about a minute's walk from the Tabuse Town Hall, this restaurant has a parking lot that seems to be shared with other tenants and is quite spacious. The interior of the restaurant is a bit cramped, with seating for around a dozen people. The udon noodles are boiled to order, so it takes about 15 minutes for them to be ready, but the noodles have a firm texture and a smooth mouthfeel, indicating that they are well-made. The portion size of the chicken tempura is a bit small, but it is flavorful and has a nice texture. The hospitality of the staff is outstanding, creating a pleasant dining experience. I tried the classic chicken udon for my first visit, but I would definitely like to try the black udon next time.
There is an authentic udon restaurant in Yamaguchi Prefecture that can rival the ones in Shikoku. Located near the popular Tabuse Machi Community Center, it offers a variety of fresh vegetables and local specialties. This time, I tried the Kamabutter udon and as someone who has recently become addicted to it, I was very satisfied. The menu offers a wide selection of both hot and cold dishes. My companion ordered the curry udon, which was also delicious. I look forward to trying a more traditional menu on my next visit.
