Feedback
At Sixth Engine, guests enjoy a delightful atmosphere in a refurbished firehouse, where attentive service and impressive drink options shine. Many diners rave about the value and taste of the cocktails alongside standout dishes like the rockfish and filet. However, inconsistencies in food quality, such as chewy meats and uninspired sandwiches, leave some wanting more. Issues with menu availability and timing also surfaced. Despite these shortcomings, the vibrant ambiance and potential for enjoyable meals make it a noteworthy stop near the Capital One Arena, though return visits may depend on individual experiences.
Good food, good service and they know how to make a really good NY Sour! Menu isnât very extensive but Eberything is good. Will be back!
Service was pleasant and sincere but not very experienced. I ordered pork stew. The meat that wasnât grizzle was so tough that it was inedible. The chips and dip in place of bread was a nice touch. Setting in old firehouse was fun. I will not be returning on future DC trips.
It was the second time we had a family dinner for at Sixth Engine. Great little place with delicious food!
The food was decent but not outstanding. However, there were several issues during our dining experience. The online menu mentioned cauliflower soup, but our server informed us that it was no longer available and that the website was outdated. Despite arriving before 6 pm, the only fish dish on the menu had already sold out, which posed a challenge for one of our group members who does not eat meat. Additionally, they served hot tea without a spoon and did not have straws available when we requested one for a soft drink. It appears that there is room for improvement at this restaurant.
We had a great experience at the restaurant. While in town for our annual convention, we made Sixth Engine our go-to spot for at least one meal during the weekend. The food and service were fantastic. The only downside was a loud party at the bar who were singing loudly and poorly to the music playing over the speaker system. We brought this to the attention of our server, who promptly informed the manager. Fortunately, after a while, the noisy performance quieted down. Despite this minor inconvenience, we will definitely be returning next year to enjoy the amazing food and wine selection.
