This restaurant seems to have a loyal local following, but some guests found the experience lacking. The ambiance was dimly lit and cozy, but furniture was worn. Starters were cold, and mains too spiced for some, although portion sizes were generous. Service was hit-or-miss, with some undesirable incidents. Some praised the food and atmosphere, while others had less than stellar experiences. However, the majority of guests seemed to enjoy the fresh, flavorful food and attentive service. Overall, a good option for a night out with friends, but there may be better choices available for a more refined dining experience.
Very impressive. Really enjoyed the food. The hot dish I had was hot, but you could really taste the flavor of the dish. The staff were really nice and attentive and should mention Ash as one.
We have been visiting this restaurant for years and our most recent 'date night' experience was no different! The staff welcomed us warmly and took the time to chat with us and offer recommendations. The food and drinks were of high quality, especially the lamb dishes like khushbu, chilli massalla, roshni, and tandoori. The lamb was always cooked perfectly and the accompaniments, especially the garlic naans, were delicious. We are already excited for our next visit. Thank you, Cardamon team!
From the good reviews it looks like this restaurant has loyal local following but we found it didn't really match our experience. The interior looks ok with subdued lighting but our side alcove was tired and the leather seats cut/ripped so we are sitting on torn leather and foam. The starter was a standard relish tray but came straight from the fridge so it was too cold and we found a couple of the sauces too thin rather than a little thicker than normal to stay on the poppadoms (even being colder! The mains are subjective, but we both found the dishes too spiced and lacking finesse in flavours. The mains were generous in portion size. Service was patchy with requests for water and napkins on two separate occasions not being done. In conclusion an Indian to go to after a few drinks with your mates and handy being right on the high street but for anything else in my experience there are better options.
Not been for a few years. What a change now it's changed hands. Vibrant, fun EXCELLENT SERVICE.
