Was Blair Quitzon at Skin+Bones a mag?
We were here for brunch Sunday 5th. They do have a limited menu but everything our group of five had was very good. Three had the chicKen and waffles and two had the corned beef Benedict. We also had the bakery plate. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Service was friendly and attentive. If your in the area we would recommend eating here. View all feedback.
What Amelie Shields dislikes about Skin+Bones:
We had foodie friends in from out of town and I chose this place thinking it would be a real gem. It was underwhelming - we were greeted but the owner who was friendly and it seemed off to a great start but our server ... it felt like he just didn't want to be there. Grumpy/no personality which didn't start the night off well. The atmosphere was a bit plain - half of the restaurant was closed off so it felt very smal... View all feedback.
I'm into this placecame here around 10:30am for Sunday brunch and there wasn't a wait- but maybe the rain contributed.
I've always wanted to try this place and i figured that the tasting menu was the best way to try the food.
I had never gone to this place but it was a suggestion that had some seriously positive reviews.__We went for Sunday brunch.
We joined a couple of friends on Saturday night and elected to go with the chef's choice and wine pairing. no allergies or Food issues so off we went. The polenta fries started was delicious with a glass of Cava. then we had a salad of mixed grains with a white Spanish followed by crispy skin salmon and the entree of steak with potato with a tannin rich red. Everything was well prepared with the exception of the potato on our shared plate - there were a couple of the spuds that had seen better days and were old, wrinkled and almost petrified - these should have NEVER made is on the plate. The dessert wine was a little 'herb' medicinal tasting for me - the table was split on the final wine choice. the little fudge brownies with the browned meringue were like a decomposed s'more. the price was 45+35 wine per person. the place was filled and got noisy so it was hard to hear the server- we were interested in what we were eating and drinking so would have liked the server to be a little more knowledgeable on what was in the glass.
We came here tonight with three of our grown children, to celebrate this and that. This is a busy place, so make a reservation. It's not possible to walk in at prime time on a weekend, unless you want a seat at the bar. The menu is thoughtfully planned out, with a handful of appetizers, four dinner options plus a special, and some lovely and generous side vegetable orders. While the prices are not low, the value is high...with more than adequate portions, and excellently prepared meals. Great food, with attentive and professional service. The freshness of the ingredients was obvious. We had a vegetarian and a gluten-free person in our party, and everyone was well taken care of. There was a slight issue on the timing of one side order, and we appreciated that they took it off the bill (as this was the right thing to do). This is a well-run restaurant, with lovely staff and fabulous food.
