Delicious food! Ok service.. they had an event happening in another room so our area was extremely loud but other than that it was lovely! I imagine the servers were busier than normal due to that as well!
The temperature is perfect, the decor is lovely, and it's a quiet place to have a conversation.
We tried the summerlicious menu which was inventive and good value. The turbot was perfectly cooked (though maybe a touch over-salted) and the chermoula and red currant garnishes were expertly done. The pork chop had excellent flavour and the fennel salad was a masterclass in balance. I prefer my pork slightly less done but it was still a great dish. The appetizers while both well-composed were missing a bit of balance. The falafel could have used a bit more acid or sauce to brighten the rest of the plate and balance out the dryness. The heirloom tomato salad with missing a bit of salt on the tomatoes but the vinaigrette and the microgreens helped bring the flavours together--perhaps if the tomatoes were marinated in that vinaigrette before plating it would amp up the dish. The desserts were both excellent. I thought the whipped mascarpone and honeycomb was a particular standout. Overall, Constantine still shines are one of the best spots in Yorkville. Worth a visit (and many returns).
