Feedback
Nestled in the chic Ovolo Hotel, Alibi has quickly established itself as a must-visit culinary destination in Sydney. Diners rave about the exceptional atmosphere and attentive service, complementing a diverse, seasonal menu that features exquisite plant-based dishes. Highlights include the flavorful kimchi dumplings, stuffed zucchini flowers, and rich chocolate cherry fondue. While some patrons note the portion sizes may not align with their expectations relative to prices, the overall quality and creativity of the food leave a lasting impression. With a stylish bar and an ever-evolving menu, Alibi is perfect for both casual and special occasions.
We were here twice at the bar and then at the restaurant. ambiance is super stylish, located in ovolo, a boutique hotel in a converted warehouse. Bar food has more fake meat and omnivore “anti-vegan” friendly options and restaurant is more classic plant-based food. our favorites at the bar were the peking D**ck pfannkuchen and the bbq bao rolls, both with jackfruit as “meat”. delicious and quite close to the real thing. in the restaurant we loved the aubergine dishes (incense baked and filled aubergines). kimchi dumplings and squash flowers were very good. I had great hopes for the mushroom wellington, but found it disappointing. for dessert the chocolate cherry fond was delicious (not as pleasant as I expected, but still rich and with a deep chocolate flavor, not excessively sweet). the service was attentive and agile. note that if they do not get the tasting menu, all the entrees come at once, all main dishes come at once. I'd rather do it better, maybe something they could ask when they order. strongly recommended for any plant based or curious.
Really quirky cocktails and amazing staff. great place to visit for a pre-dinner drink
This restaurant in Sydney has become one of our favorites! Perfect for a date night or to impress your vegetarian/vegan friend. Everyone should check out this place! The bar is also really cool, so be sure to stop by for a drink before or after dinner. I highly recommend trying the gnocchi and zucchini flowers, the vegetarian dishes are absolutely delicious!
Eating was sensational. the servier sizes were very generous, especially the carvings that could feed 4 people as part of the side. could not complain about eating or service only the decor. the decor does not fit to the foods or services, it is designed like a caffe. the decoration they had before was much better with better ambiente. it was also very warm in the inner I would recommend to go people to eat shannon martinez’s menu as it is amazing
