Was JD at Down South Cajjun Eats a mag?
I tried the loaded swamp fries, along with a Gator Juice and Chicken and Sausage Gumbo, while my husband ordered the seafood mac and cheese. Our server was friendly and very helpful with the menu; she made great recommendations, and I decided to try everything she suggested—no complaints there either! We will definitely be returning! Since we were visiting the area and ordered takeout to enjoy in our hotel room, we requested plenty of ketchup. However, the hostess informed us that they were out of ketchup packets and suggested we stop by a McDonald's to get some instead, instead of offering to provide it in the cups that the tartar sauce came in. Some of the best gumbo that I've had in a long time. I chose the chicken, sausage and shrimp gumbo with some grilled shrimp on the side. Always my go-to when I'm in the area. You won't be disappointed.
Disappointed, The vibes and atmosphere are great. The food is ok. We ordered the motherclucker for brunch, waited almost an hour. I had french toast with mine. Chicken and French toast ?extra crispy? ie burnt. Hard as a rock. Tell the waitress and shesays let me get the owner. Why? There?s not a process in place for dissatisfied orders except bugging the owner? 5 min latershes still walking around with my plate. And asks if i want a whole new sandwich or just replace those items? Um i had an issuewith those items so just replace them. She brings a whole new sandwich out, no syrup, 5 min wait for that. French toast arestill super crispy ?deep fried? but they need a different batter cause that?s not it. Owner never came. Drinks were good. Itseems to be a eat before you come and enjoy the dj type of place.

After some back and forth, they finally gave us more ketchup, but by the time we got back to our hotel, the food had cooled. Providing good service from the beginning can really help avoid problems like this.
I’ve been to Cajjun Eats a few times for brunch and dinner. The food is really good, the grits and fish were the highlights. The drinks are strong. It’s a nice vibe for brunch or late night. The new expansion is a nice touch. Our server Cleo wasfriendly and prompt, service was quick. I’ll definitely be back.
