AppleYard has garnered mixed reviews following significant price hikes, leaving loyal patrons disheartened. Once celebrated for its vibrant atmosphere and attentive service, many diners lament that the food quality has declined, with undercooked vegetables and disappointing mains becoming common grievances. Though some visitors praise the friendly staff and delightful tapas, others find the overall dining experience lacking, particularly with the recent menu stagnation. While there are glimpses of enjoyable meals and positive service, the shift towards higher prices without enhanced offerings has led to disappointment, suggesting that management needs to refocus on customer satisfaction to restore its former glory.

Was Kim at Appleyard a mag?
Presentation is key and the presentation was not great although the food tasted lovely apart from the churros which were so greasy! And the chocolate sauce so watery. Wine not great either Staff were great, friendly and knowledgeable but restaurant is a bit cramped and staff kept knocking my husbands chair on the way past every time Lovely ambience and decor View all feedback.
What Dino Karger dislikes about Appleyard:
The venue is charming, but we had to keep our coats on because it was as cold inside as it was outside clearly this is a well known issue as blankets are provided at each inside table, which is very unusual. The service was friendly but impersonal and slow we waited 45 minutes for three Sunday roasts and were not made aware, or kept informed, of the delay. The chicken roasts were very good. The beef roast was overcoo... View all feedback.

Great service, authentic food and atmosphere. Fantastic tapas with a drink in the bar or great choice of starters and mains in restaurant. Highly. recommended Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £30–40 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
During my visit to London, I had the pleasure of dining at The Appleyard, which was so enjoyable that I returned a week later. I particularly enjoyed sitting at the high tables near the bar, where I could relax and enjoy good music, excellent wine, and delicious food. I will definitely be returning as every dish I tried from the menu was fantastic and the staff were incredibly welcoming. Overall, I rate the food, service, and atmosphere at The Appleyard a perfect 5 out of 5.
It was our first visit with my family, and every dish exceeded our expectations—beautifully presented, full of authentic flavours, and crafted with genuine passion. The steak was cooked to perfection, and the churros made for the ideal sweet finale. A special thank you to Alex, who made the evening truly memorable. His deep knowledge of the menu, warm personality, and impeccable attention to detail turned a great night into an unforgettable one. He anticipated our needs before we even voiced them, suggested flawless wine pairings, and made us feel like valued guests from start to finish. We can’t wait to go back again soon!
