What Elsie Turner likes about The Compasses Inn:
We had such a nice evening at The Compassses in Chicksgrove. Service could not have been quick, efficient and polite. We shared appetizers of humble and deep fried chili-squid, and then all had the steak and chips perfectly cooked rare, absolutely tasty, hot and so tasty with a beautiful bottle of melowrot wine I was in heaven and the best way to go for the first time in a long time! Vin de Pays d 'Oc, Domaine St Hilaire, France (14% abv). Exotic and hedonistic with wonderfully enticing aromas of ripe apricots, peaches and honeysuckle. Despite being so 'alluring ', this wine is excellent with spicy, zingy foods
